GameZone brought festive energy to Manila’s iconic Chinatown as it celebrated Chinese New Year 2026 in partnership with Tropical Hut.
Held on February 17, 2026, the celebration took place in Binondo—recognized as the world’s oldest Chinatown and a central hub for Lunar New Year traditions in the country.
To mark the occasion, GameZone transformed the historic Tropical Hut branch in the Escolta-Binondo area into a vibrant, Chinese-themed space, drawing attention amid the busy празднич atmosphere of the district.
The celebration highlighted the deep cultural roots of Chinese New Year in the Philippines, a tradition that dates back to the 1500s and has been officially recognized as a nationwide special non-working holiday since 2012.
Bringing the streets to life, GameZone featured dragon and lion dance performances, complete with rhythmic drumbeats symbolizing prosperity, good fortune, and the warding off of negative energy—creating an immersive experience for both locals and tourists.
To further engage the crowd, attendees were treated to ₱100 Tropical Hut gift certificates, adding a simple but appreciated reward to the festive experience.
The fun didn’t stop there. Selected participants also had the chance to win ₱2,000 cash prizes by joining trivia games and completing GameZone’s roulette-style challenges, blending traditional celebration with interactive gaming elements.
With its mix of culture, entertainment, and rewards, the event attracted a lively crowd in Binondo, a destination long محبوب by both Filipinos and international visitors.
As part of its broader vision, GameZone—together with its parent company DigiPlus Interactive Corp.—continues to support initiatives that celebrate and preserve cultural heritage while delivering engaging digital entertainment experiences.
