Amid the vibrant colors and festive energy of the Panagbenga Festival, DigiPlus Foundation introduced a ₱2 million community support program aimed at enhancing healthcare, education, and indigenous livelihoods across the city.
The initiative was officially unveiled on March 1 during the BingoPlus Panagbenga Celebration Day at the Melvin Jones Grandstand, bringing together celebration and social impact in a single platform. The program reflects the continued commitment of DigiPlus Interactive Corp. and its flagship brand BingoPlus to support inclusive and sustainable development.
Through this initiative, over 1,000 residents in Baguio are expected to benefit. By working closely with government agencies and community organizations, DigiPlus Foundation aims to deliver meaningful support in sectors that directly influence daily life.
“Panagbenga highlights the strength and beauty of Filipino culture,” said Angela Camins Wieneke, Executive Director of DigiPlus Foundation. “It also presents an opportunity to invest in communities and ensure that development reaches those who need it most.”
A portion of the funding is allocated to healthcare programs, particularly vision care services for senior citizens. This effort is carried out in partnership with the National Commission of Senior Citizens – Cordillera Administrative Region and the Office for Senior Citizens’ Affairs, providing optical assistance through dedicated medical missions.
In the field of education, the foundation is extending financial assistance to selected students in collaboration with the Department of Social Welfare and Development, helping ensure continued access to learning opportunities.
The program also supports indigenous communities through a partnership with Advocating Traditions for Onward Resilience. This collaboration focuses on strengthening livelihood initiatives while preserving the cultural heritage of the Cordillera region.
The ceremonial turnover gathered representatives from partner agencies and beneficiary groups, highlighting a collaborative approach to community development. Rhod Jessie Barrera, WishPlus and Special Events Lead of DigiPlus Foundation, emphasized that meaningful progress comes from cooperation between the private sector, government, and local communities.
The event also marked the public debut of DigiPlus Foundation’s refreshed identity, signaling a broader push to expand its impact nationwide. Previously known as BingoPlus Foundation, the organization has already reached over one million Filipinos through programs centered on education, healthcare, livelihood, and disaster resilience.
Festival attendees were also invited to take part in the WishPlus initiative, sharing their aspirations while learning about the foundation’s ongoing programs.
By integrating social investment into one of the country’s most iconic festivals, DigiPlus Foundation showcases how community-focused initiatives can grow alongside business innovation, creating long-term value for Filipino communities.
