PlayTime Entertainment highlighted the announcement of the Top 40 candidates of Miss Universe Philippines 2026 following the release of the evening gown segment from the closed-door preliminary competition.
A week after the video was published on PlayTime Entertainment’s official YouTube channel, the Miss Universe Philippines Organization revealed the 40 delegates advancing to the next stage.
The Top 40 is composed of 20 candidates who garnered the highest number of votes via the Maya app during the first voting round from April 5 to 11, along with 20 delegates selected based on scores from the selection committee.
The live elimination ceremony took place at Bigger Pictures and was hosted by Gabriella Carballo. Candidates first appeared individually in coordinated white and beige outfits before returning as a group ahead of the official announcement.
Following the reveal, the organization also confirmed updates to the competition format, including moving the interview segment ahead of the swimsuit round.
The next phase will feature the release of interview videos from April 12 to 18, which will serve as the basis for the second round of public voting. From there, 30 delegates—split between top vote-getters and highest scorers—will advance to the final voting stage from April 19 to 25.
Ultimately, 20 semifinalists will be determined, combining public votes, judges’ scores, brand awards, and wildcard selections. The final lineup will be completed during coronation night on May 2 at the Mall of Asia Arena.
