Anticipation continues to grow for the 1st ArenaPlus-KaTribu Pickleball Tournament, as organizers unveil an impressive lineup of prizes and rewards for participants competing on June 12 at The Dink Lab Elite in Kawit, Cavite.
Organized by DAILY TRIBUNE in partnership with ArenaPlus, the event—dubbed the “Dink-dependence Day Showdown” in celebration of the Philippines’ 128th Independence Day anniversary—promises a day filled with competition, community spirit, and exciting giveaways.
According to DAILY TRIBUNE Sports Editor Julius Manicad, participants can look forward to a variety of premium prizes designed to make the tournament a memorable experience for everyone involved.
Among the most anticipated raffle prizes is a round-trip airline ticket from Manila to Narita, Japan, along with pickleball paddles and other exclusive rewards. Participants will also have opportunities to win hotel accommodations, food vouchers, gift certificates, and special prizes provided by event partners led by ArenaPlus, the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC), and JC Premiere.
Competition winners will also receive substantial cash prizes. Champions in each category will take home P15,000, while first and second runners-up will receive P10,000 and P5,000, respectively. Additional support for the tournament comes from sponsors including Pag-IBIG Fund, Villar Foundation, Cebu Pacific, Philip Morris Fortune Tobacco Corporation, Hotel 101, DITO, Pascual Laboratories, HEAD, Bioessence, and the Department of Finance.
Food and refreshments will also be a major part of the festivities, with support from restaurant partners such as The Bistro Group and Mama Lou’s, while Pepsi-Cola Philippines and Coca-Cola Philippines will help keep participants and spectators refreshed throughout the day.
The tournament has already attracted nearly 300 pickleball enthusiasts, highlighting the sport’s growing popularity across the country.
“We’re incredibly grateful for the support we’ve received from both the pickleball community and our sponsors,” Manicad said. “Everything is coming together nicely, and we’re excited to welcome players and fans for what promises to be a memorable celebration of sport and community.”
Registered participants will also receive official competition shirts and event giveaways as part of their tournament package.
The opening ceremony is expected to feature ArenaPlus Head Erick Su, Kawit Mayor Armie Aguinaldo, Philippine Pickleball Federation President Shery Anne ‘Shawie’ Cu, and candidates from Miss Earth 2026, who will help officially launch the competition.
Meanwhile, Senator Mark Villar, former Senator Cynthia Villar, PSC Chairman Patrick ‘Pato’ Gregorio, and DAILY TRIBUNE President Willie Fernandez are expected to personally award trophies, medals, and cash prizes to the tournament winners.
Beyond competition, the ArenaPlus-KaTribu Pickleball Tournament aims to promote friendship, sportsmanship, healthy lifestyles, and the continued growth of pickleball in the Philippines.
