PlayTime Entertainment is accelerating its move into esports, forming a competitive Dota 2 team as it looks to expand beyond its core gaming business and connect with a younger, digital-first audience.
The initiative reflects a broader shift toward building a more diversified entertainment platform, with esports serving as a key entry point for new revenue streams and deeper brand engagement.
Through PT Sports, the company introduced a roster that blends experienced Filipino veterans with rising international talent, signaling its ambition to compete in the fast-growing regional esports scene.
The lineup features Carlo “Kuku” Palad, Polo “Raven” Fausto, and Djardel Jicko “DJ” Mampusti—seasoned players with global experience—alongside emerging Filipino talent Eljohn “Akashi” Andales and Jeanpierre “Pipi” Valente Arroyo, a young player from Peru stepping onto the international stage.
The move highlights esports’ ability to drive continuous content, unlock sponsorship opportunities, and deliver global visibility.
“By investing in competitive gaming and developing teams capable of performing on the global stage, PT Sports aims to support the growth of multiple sports categories in the Philippines, with esports as a key focus, while strengthening PlayTime Entertainment’s role in the evolving entertainment ecosystem,” the company said.
