As fuel prices continued to climb amid ongoing geopolitical tensions in the Middle East, BingoPlus launched its “Tuloy Ang Biyahe” drivers’ assistance initiative to support Filipino riders and transport workers affected by soaring transportation costs.
The DigiPlus-owned platform distributed nearly ₱80,000 worth of Petron fuel vouchers to more than 100 motorcycle taxi riders and taxi drivers across Metro Manila last April 28 to 29, helping ease the burden of rising fuel expenses on everyday workers who rely on the roads for their livelihood.
With global oil prices experiencing sharp volatility following tensions involving the United States, Israel, and Iran in the Strait of Hormuz, Filipino commuters and transport workers have faced mounting pressure from increasing fuel costs in recent months.
Through the initiative, BingoPlus aimed to provide practical assistance to riders and drivers who continue to serve as an essential part of the country’s transport and delivery network.
“I’m grateful because riders like us were recognized and supported through this program,” said fuel voucher recipient Grace Atienza Rubi.
Another beneficiary, Diether Narbarona, shared that the assistance would help him better manage daily expenses. “The fuel voucher is a big help because it allows me to save on gas and allocate more for my family’s needs,” he said.
Aside from fuel support, several participants also received BingoPlus-branded essentials such as caps, towels, umbrellas, tote bags, and protective rider sleeves.
The campaign reflects BingoPlus’ continued efforts to engage with local communities beyond digital entertainment, especially during periods of economic pressure affecting ordinary Filipinos.
As fuel prices and transportation costs remain uncertain, the company said it hopes initiatives like “Tuloy Ang Biyahe” can provide meaningful support to workers who keep cities moving every day.
