The next generation of Filipino golf talents is set to receive a major boost as The International Series (IS), through BingoPlus, prepares to donate 100 golf sets and 100 dozen golf balls to golf courses participating in the National Grassroots Golf Program.
The initiative was officially announced on Monday, May 18, through a partnership involving the Philippine Open, the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC), and BingoPlus, the country’s leading and most trusted online entertainment platform, less than six months before the 2026 BingoPlus Philippine Open tees off this November.
In support of grassroots sports development and nation-building through athletics, PSC Chairman Patrick “Pato” Gregorio and BingoPlus expressed full support for the large-scale donation drive as golf continues to grow steadily across the Philippines.
The program aims to provide aspiring young golfers with better access to equipment and opportunities, especially at the grassroots level where many of the country’s top players first developed their skills.
Among those who benefited from strong grassroots support is ArenaPlus ambassador and two-time Philippine Open champion Miguel Tabuena, who remains one of the country’s most recognizable golf figures today.
Tabuena is expected to be one of the headline attractions of the 2026 BingoPlus Philippine Open scheduled from November 12 to 15, as Asia’s oldest National Open enters its second year under The International Series calendar following its successful inclusion last year.
This year’s Philippine Open is again expected to feature some of the world’s top golfers competing on their path toward the prestigious LIV Golf League, further elevating the profile of Philippine golf on the international stage.
BingoPlus said the donation drive marks only the beginning of several planned sports initiatives for the second half of 2026 in collaboration with The International Series and the Philippine Sports Commission.
With grassroots development continuing to play a crucial role in shaping future athletes, the partnership aims to strengthen opportunities for young Filipino golfers while supporting the long-term growth of the sport nationwide.
