Kenneth Llover remains determined to pursue his boxing dreams despite suffering the first loss of his professional career.
Following a hard-fought split-decision defeat to Michael Angeletti in their International Boxing Federation (IBF) bantamweight title eliminator on June 6, Llover expressed gratitude for the experience and vowed to return stronger in the next chapter of his career.
Two judges scored the bout 116-111 and 115-112 in favor of the unbeaten Angeletti, who improved his record to 15-0, while the third judge saw Llover winning 115-112. The result brought an end to the Caviteño boxer’s previously unbeaten 17-0 record.
Despite the setback, the 24-year-old fighter remains focused on growth and future opportunities.
“Not everything in life ends in victory. There will be moments when you experience defeat,” Llover said.
“But losing does not mean you stop chasing your goals. You learn from it, work harder, and keep moving forward.”
ArenaPlus, the Philippines’ leading PAGCOR-licensed online sportsbook, commended Llover for his determination, professionalism, and fighting spirit throughout the bout.
“Kenneth has shown tremendous heart and character inside and outside the ring,” said Erick Su, Head of ArenaPlus.
“Every successful boxer faces challenges at some point in their journey. We believe this experience will only make him stronger and help him reach greater heights in the future.”
Llover also thanked his supporters, coaches, and the ArenaPlus family for their continued encouragement.
“To everyone who supported me, thank you very much. This is not the end of my journey. I will continue working hard, improving every day, and fighting for the Philippines whenever I step into the ring,” he said.
While the result may not have gone his way, Llover remains committed to learning from the experience and returning to contention as he continues his pursuit of a world-title opportunity.
