Italy’s Michele Ortolani finally celebrated the breakthrough victory he had been chasing for years, capturing the inaugural 2026 BingoPlus Philippine ADT Open with a 16-under-par total at Luisita Golf and Country Club in Tarlac.
The 29-year-old edged Chinese Taipei’s Su Ching-Hung by a single stroke to win the USD100,000 tournament, earning the first professional title of his career after turning pro in 2015.
Overcome with emotion after sinking the winning putt, Ortolani proudly lifted both the championship trophy and the winner’s check, marking the biggest milestone of his golfing journey.
“I’m speechless. I still can’t believe I won,” Ortolani said. “I’m very, very happy, and so is my family back home. They’ve been following every round this week.”
The final round tested Ortolani’s composure. Starting the day one shot behind overnight leader Galven Green of Malaysia, he dropped a shot at the seventh hole before responding with timely birdies on the 10th and 12th. Another birdie on the par-4 16th ultimately proved decisive, allowing him to finish at 16-under 272, one shot ahead of Su, while Argentina’s Franco Scorzato claimed third at 14-under.
“I’d also like to thank Luisita Golf and Country Club, BingoPlus, the Asian Development Tour, and the National Golf Association of the Philippines,” Ortolani said. “Without all of you, none of us would be here. It’s been an unforgettable week.”
The tournament also proved significant for the local contingent. Sean Ramos finished as the highest-placing Filipino at 11-under-par to earn a berth in the 2026 BingoPlus Philippine Open on the International Series later this year.
He will be joined by Clyde Mondilla, who secured the second available slot for the top Filipino finishers not yet qualified. Three-time Asian Tour champion Angelo Que finished ahead of Mondilla but had already earned an exemption into the event.
Asian Development Tour General Manager Ken Kudo also praised title sponsor BingoPlus for helping stage the tournament and expanding opportunities for golfers across the region.
“The support from BingoPlus in bringing this USD100,000 tournament to the Philippines goes a long way,” Kudo said. “It not only benefits the players' livelihoods, but also gives them the opportunity to pursue their dreams.”
The BingoPlus Philippine ADT Open reflects the brand’s growing commitment to supporting Philippine sports. Beyond golf, BingoPlus continues to back major sporting events, professional teams, cultural festivals, music, and entertainment initiatives as part of its efforts to help elevate Filipino talent on bigger stages.
